Spectacular Seed Pods
I'm fascinated by the diversity of the desert. When driving through at 70mph it looks like there is nothing there but endless sand and a few scruffy bushes, however, I'm always making serendipitous discoveries.
This brilliant red and orange seed pod caught my attention as it was glowing like a fire stone in the late afternoon sun. I think it is a species of acacia, quite a common plant, but the color and symmetry of the pods caught my eye. I kept watch for more of them and soon enough this next one appeared.
This one reminds me of the Celtic Triskelion symbol.
Whilst these shots aren't macros, they are close ups so I'm adding them to the Lisa's Chaos Macro Monday blog,

That looks familiar but what ever it is, your shots are great!
What Am I
what great finds ...
I like these seed pods. They say there are two kinds of people with regard to the desert... [1] those that like to get through it as quickly as possible to their final destination and [2] those that have a hard time ever reaching their destination because they like to turn off and explore at every opportunity. I fall into the latter category!
Just wonderful...I love the forms they've taken and the light you've captured as well.
Really marvelous macro!!!!
Wonderful color and light in these photos!
Happy MM
